Structured data (schema markup).

Machine-readable information added to a page that states plainly what it describes — a business, its address and hours, a service, a set of frequently asked questions, an article and its author.

Why it matters.

It does not make a page rank higher on its own. What it does is let search engines and AI assistants use the page confidently: opening hours in the result, a rating beside the listing, an answer quoted in an AI overview. Of the 34,180 GTA business sites we opened, 9,386 have none at all. One rule matters above the rest: the markup must describe what a visitor can actually see on the page.

How to check it yourself.

View the page source and search for "application/ld+json". If nothing comes back, the site is telling search engines nothing about the business beyond what it can guess from the text.

Questions

Where does your
own site land?

Everything above came from opening real websites. Yours takes ten seconds: we load it the way a customer would and say what we find, including when the honest answer is that nothing needs doing.
