Mobile-first indexing.
Google crawls and indexes the mobile version of a page as the primary version. It has been the default for years.
Why it matters.
The practical consequence is that content hidden or dropped from the mobile layout is content Google may not count. Sites that show a stripped-down version on phones — fewer sections, less text, no reviews — are being judged on the stripped version. Parity between what a phone user sees and what a desktop user sees is the requirement.
How to check it yourself.
